A quick way is to view the IP address of your computer and use that as the basis for setting the IP of the camera. Just type IPCONFIG from a command prompt on your PC to view it.

Many routers assign IP addresses in the 192.168.1.x range. As an example, if your PC has an IP of 192.168.1.100, I would add 30 to the last number to help avoid conflicts with any other devices. So, you might be able to use 192.168.1.130 as an IP for your camera.

But to be certain you don't have an IP conflict (two devices with same IP) on your network, you need to access the router GUI and reserve an IP address for the camera or set the IP to one outside the DHCP range. Check your router's manual, as the steps for doing this vary depending on manufacturer.
