How rich are web developers? - d.akeke - 04-29-2014 08:37 AM

if no which set of people can (by careers/occupations and earnings).

if possible which set of people earn nothing less than $1m per month/ $1b per year

LMAO

$1,000,000 a month?!?!?

What are you smoking.

Skill is a big part of a web developers earning capability, if you're very good, you'll earn a lot, $1m a month is ridiculous, probably at the most a web developer could earn say $40k a YEAR.

In North America, this is the rough breakdown of a software developer's wages per year:

entry level position: $40,000
mid-level position: $60,000
high-level position: $80,000 - $100,000

web developers, however, earn less than software developers.

Uhhh, absolutely not.

I'm a web/software developer. Basically what my work entails is developing new web applications and software for a company to support their business. I use JavaScript, PHP, databases, and frameworks to help maintain their system among other technologies.

No where are you going to be making 1 million a month as a web developer. I think what you're thinking of is a web entrepreneur during the big web explosion in the early 90s.

Average starting salary is $50,000/year. Moving into higher positions of management and project directing can get you up to $150,000/year. Haven't heard of anyone making more than that.

The ones who created facebook, myspace, etc were web developers. Of course, most web developers do not have such a good idea, and they create websites for others. Then it's a bit harder to earn lots of cash Wink. But still, if you are good at what you're doing, you can get "rich". Meaning you don't have to worry about money all the time.

Hahaha you're on crack or something dude.

If you're looking to earn that much money then become Bigger than Billgates. To earn that much you'll have to invent something even more common than Microsoft/Windows.

And from the sound of it, you're in it all for the money. Nothing ever works out in the end if you're just greedy, kid. Good things come to those who work for it.
