okay so I want something like tweter or instagram...
the problem is what do I need? (I have osx maverics 10.9 and also xcode )
how about the server? can I use a hostgator one? and where can I learn all of te stuff like objective-c?

Programming is not an easy thing to learn, and object oriented C can.take MONTHS to learn. Although Mac and XCode are good programs to start with, they won't do the work for you. And to host a social media network on the scale of those mentioned above would take a huge, probably custom based multi-million dollar setups.
The short answer: It would be nearly impossible for the average person.

You have bitten off way more than you can chew for now. The fact that you're asking this here means it's pointless to go on.
