Do I need AT&T-RC self support tool. I have a cable connection. Do I still need it? - Goober - 04-30-2014 09:07 PM

I have Comcast cable for internet. I did keep my AT & T e-mail address. There is a program called AT&T-RC self support tool on my computer. Do I need this program or can I un-install it?

I have had DSL originally with Ameritech, which merged with SBC, which merged back into AT&T and have never heard of that application (I mostly run Linux at home). So I do not think it is essential. You can typically get any help you need on the att.yahoo.com web portal.

But I think if you want to keep your AT&T e-mail address for more than 90 days after you discontinued an AT&T internet connection you might need a least an AT&T dial up account (even if you do not use it) to keep your AT&T e-mail address. They are not going to let you keep that for free indefinitely.
