Do colleges really hack your facebook and myspace pages even if you set them to private? - 安艾文 - 10-15-2012 09:26 PM

Like I heard that they will search you online and either accept you or reject you based on what they find in some cases.

They won't try to crack your username and password, but if you don't have your privacy settings properly adjusted, they will look at your page and pictures, yes.

Well many universities and places where you apply for jobs sometimes look at your facebook/myspace profiles to see what kind of person you are. although some places do this, if your profile is set to private where only your friends can see it, they will not hack into your profile. this is because that is illegal and they can be fined.

If someone really wants to hack into your info, they can, yes, which is why you need to change your password regularly and don't share your PC or give anyone your password. You also need to keep your security up to date.
