Connection ping counts also in streaming. You might believe your connection is quick but I recommend you speed test to be sure. Here is one site you can use to test download, upload and ping. If you get low readings contact your internet provider.

first I hope you using a Ethernet port (yellow cable ( or you could try those plug in Ethernet port that turns you home wiring as a Ethernet wire if it far away from your wireless router, but first try a Ethernet since you should have one and there cheaper) )for the best way to transmit you broadband signal not wireless, for the streaming it depend on two factors your internet speed and the website internet speed ( you will also have to bear in mind about other users using it as this will affect the website speed.

5Mbps is not a fast connection since you get divided speed. For example there are 5 users in your area, then you get 1Mbps. So your connection speed depends on the no. of users in your area. So, instead of viewing a video online download them with softwares like youtube downloader or slimbrowser or download them via keepvid.com. In this way your video will not lag and you can view them offline too. By the way when you stream videos it first gets downloaded in a temporary location and then it is played.
