What extension do I need to install on Chrome to get rid of hyperlink spam? - 657 - 05-01-2014 10:42 PM I have Google Chrome on my computer, and only recently I have been getting a lot of popups that I can't seem to get rid of. I have used AdBlock and AdBlock Plus, but neither seem to be doing the job. For example, key words on a web page will be hyperlinked and highlighted in blue, and whenever my cursor passes over them, a picture ad will pop up. Occasionally I will click on a link and a new tab will open for some ad site. What do I need to do to fix this problem? - Curtis Brown - 05-01-2014 10:47 PM same man but honestly i think its a virus i got the same but it happens on my firefox and waterfox too - 725 - 05-01-2014 11:02 PM i think its an app so you have to go to control panel and if you see unusual things uninstall them just be careful not to delete important things - 824 - 05-01-2014 11:05 PM actually I have adblock on chrome and I don't even have any kind of ads :O try to uninstall and reinstall ![]() - Aaron - 05-01-2014 11:10 PM Ad block doesn't always block pop ups you should try using a antivirus program of download a trial Norton by symatec productions:http://us.norton.com/downloads-trial-norton-internet-security?inid=us_hho_topnav_download_detail_nis - Fred - 05-01-2014 11:24 PM My guess is that you have some form of malware. Adblock Plus is very good but will not help you here. Try running the free versions of Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. https://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html |
