Do you think the bible prophecy that man shall be lovers of themselves is coming true? - THE REAL DEAL SEX APPEAL - 05-02-2014 09:02 AM

2 Timothy 3:2

With all this Twitter - Instagram etc etc now look I admit maybe I am kinda into self love and loving myself but I mean aahhh how can I describe.

Okay I am sure back in the 1950s it was not the way it is now - I mean sure ya had Marilyn Monroe she was the epitome of self love.

But NOW TODAY everybody on their smartphone taking pics of themselves and uploading etc etc posing etc etc.

I think more so NOW then ever man has really become a lover of himself.

We all must take self pride of course but no more then ever it is taken to a real extreme!

What is your view?

People have always loved themselves.
This is hardly something new.

People have always been "lovers of themselves." That's why they invent myths about being important in the universe and communing with all-powerful cosmic beings. It isn't a prophecy—it's just human.

Loving yourself isn't a new thing, nor is it a bad thing.

More like it already is the state of things.

Apparently the others on here aren't familiar with the full quote. It's not just saying that they love themselves, it is saying that they love themselves rather than God.

Coming true?
It is a fact of human behaviour.

Can you tell me a time in human history when men have -not- been lovers of themselves?

This is not a prophecy because it describes something that has always been.
