Or do you think we should come up with something else instead of warning labels? Because a lot of studies are showing how ineffective warning labels are.

I think people should (a) read the warning labels and (b) take notice of what they say.
Most of the time, warning labels are clear enough - it's people being stupid that creates the problems.

They are there to protect the manufacturer more than the consumer, like the car commercials with the foot note "driven by professional stunt driver on a closed course"
One current commercial says "just a fantasy, cars can't drive on top of trains" just to protect the commercial producers from some idiot who tries to copy it.
