- Barbie - 05-03-2014 09:35 PM If everyone survived before the late 90's-early 00's, I'm pretty sure its possible. - weeooo - 05-03-2014 09:39 PM I could but I'd rather not - Robin - 05-03-2014 09:41 PM What no cell phone? Then what will I do while I'm driving???? Lol....... - ßloodlusT - 05-03-2014 09:49 PM Yep. - outhval - 05-03-2014 09:52 PM I could "survive" (as I've done in the past) but it wouldn't be so interesting as going on the internet/computer to learn different things or play games etc. and even get some enjoyment on Y!A and other similar sites. I think the older generation pre www. appreciate it more than youngsters who have never ever been without it....!! - bookworm530 - 05-03-2014 10:06 PM I could "survive"... and lived the first 25 years of my life without a cell-phone (I had one of the first in the late 1980s, and 30+ years of my life without high-speed internet. However, since I've become accustomed to the ability to research, shop, and communicate over the internet in the last decade... it would NOT be a HAPPY life if I lost that connection. That said... we still have a land-line here at the ranch - in our area we give our phone numbers by the last 4 digits since EVERYONE in the county is 209-754-XXXX. We have to have satellite internet and television because the phone company (and the cable company) are too CHEAP to string the fiber-optic cable out into our area. Hell, I had to build my own cell-tower for our ranch with a microwave antenna bounce to the phone company offices 70 miles away. EDIT - Oh... in the winter of 2009 - our ranch lost power for 14 days - no internet, TV, or anything. THAT was rough - Pearl L - 05-03-2014 10:09 PM no, i need all of them, especially the internet |
