I am trying to add a facebook like button to some html and nothings working.

Hello! did you know that FB has a developer section?
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
Go to the following link and configure your "Like Button". After u are done press the "Get Code" button. It will give you the instructions.
