How Can I Fix My Wireless Internet Connection? - 345 - 05-04-2014 12:55 AM

I disabled my Internet connection and now I can't reconnect. When I click on the Local Area Connection icon I am unable to see the networks I can connect to. What should I do?

right click it, go to open network and sharing center, change adapter settings, and right click your wireless connection, and click something to reenable it

1Turn off all of the computers in your home--laptops, desktops--all of them.

2 When all of the computers are completely off, unplug both your cable modem and your wireless router. The wireless router will have an antennae on it and it plugs directly into the modem.

3 Allow both pieces of equipment to sit for a few minutes.

4 Plug in your cable modem first AND NOTHING ELSE. Wait for all of the modem's lights to come up as it reboots.

5 Once your cable modem is back up, plug in your wireless router. Do not turn on the computers yet. Wait for the wireless router's lights to all come back up.

6 After the wireless router is back on, then, and only then, should you turn your computers back on. As the laptop starts, it will get a clean IP address and your wireless Internet connection should be re-established.
