I'm more accustomed to having to buy banner ad space on media company sites like KSL.
The 2 biggest general classified sites are Craigslist.org an backpages.com, Craigslist has a remarkable number of free categories, while backpages (which get s about 1/5 the traffic) has more typical paid ad enhancements.
