Facebook: you have more friends on fb than you think? - 557 - 05-06-2014 02:42 AM

I have received a letter from facebook, saying "you have more friends on facebook than you think" with photos of some people that FB suggested to add to my friend list and one of them I really had on my e-mail contacts. Now, I use different passwords for FB and my e-mail (nor I invited that person to be my friend on FB by leaving my e-mail password), I'd like to know the ways how it's possible for FB to get that kind of information. Thanks!

not sure about that, but FB can get a lot of info that you don't know about when you visit other sites. i read an article not too long ago that when you are logged into FB and you go to a different website, FB knows what sites you're on and they can find out your interests and other info without you even knowing through what you visit. i don't know what they do with that info. they claimed they didn't use that info for anything bad, but i don't remember exactly what they said. it was an article on yahoo. anyways, they only stop getting that info from different sites you visit once you log out of FB. It only works while you're logged in. Sooo maybe that has to do with what you're talking about? Or maybe since you're using that email for FB it's just making suggestions. Not sure though. Interesting...
