What are some cheap advertising/marketing channels? - Coz - 10-15-2012 09:32 PM

Working on a school project to market the launch of a new car, and we are given a small budget for marketing. What are some cheap marketing channels besides things like facebook, twitter, youtube. Any ideas or resources i can use?
car is going to launch 2015

Budget is :

1 million in 2013, 2 million in 2014, 10 milloin in 1015,16 and 17

You didn't mention HOW small your budget is. Radio ads can be cheap, and so can tv commercials if they are not aired in prime time.

If those are too expensive, consider using one of those "billboard by the day" services to get the word out.

Also, write a press release and submit it to all the major local radio and tv stations - invite them to the premiere "showing" of the new car (perhaps you'd exhibit it in a car show?), and their coverage of it will be free.

You could work with a local radio or tv station to offer a prize (maybe an iPad) for its listeners or viewers, perhaps when they spot the new car around town. You could limit this contest to just 1 day, or even just 1 rush hour, but be prepared to have several winners.
