I have a fairly new computer. But whenever I try to go on a server it works for about 2-3 minutes and it says not responding. It's really annoying cause some of my friends aren't having this problem. Can someone tell me if it is my computer or is it the new update,

I think it is your computer's problem as I do not have this problem -- even though I play on the same server for about 2 hours. Maybe you can scan for viruses and go to the shop that you bought this computer and tell the staffs about that.

It sounds like there's maybe something wrong with your internet connection more than anything else. Have you tried trying the fixes on this page, they work pretty well for internet issues:
