The Chromecast allows you to stream certain content from your iPhone to your TV.
You'll have to check the Chromecast's website for a complete list but I believe it only works with Netflix, Hulu Plus and a few other web-based sites. I don't think it'll work with local files.
Caveat: Chromecast can supposedly stream anything you can display with the Google Chrome web browser. SO...if your iPhone can run the Chrome browser AND display the video file in question, then yes you can use the Chromecast to stream it.
