ooo youll have to buy a new jack and it needs to be installed by a professional to prevent it from happening again. so itll cost about $450

You may need to reinstall the connection software.

go into the start menu, click on my computer, on the left side click on my network connections. Double click on broadband connection & it will enable

it depends on what was destroyed by the virus and/or removal .. check over ur connection settings and if it looks good but no dice it may be quicker to backup ur stuff and reformat instead of chasing it ...

if you have got your anti-virus up todate and done a full scan and your pc is now clean (if not do so)
than you may need to reinstall your isp program.
it appears that the virus has affected that program.

If all else fails, you could try WinSock XP Fix."

"WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. If you encounter connection problems after removing network related software, Adware or after registry clean-up; and all other ways fail, then give WinSock XP Fix a try. It can create a registry backup of your current settings, so it is fairly safe to use..."
