The FBI said the we're recording my history and I was doing something illegal on my ps3? - Danny McBride - 05-08-2014 07:38 PM

Help?!? I'm only 17 I watch porn on my ps3 but nothing illegal today I was watching porn and a message showed up saying I would have to pay $200 on a money card and enter in a code to unlock it or they would press federal charges against me because they found illegal content I really don't wanna go to jail I'm only 17 help?!? What do I do is it a virus or a scam??? Btw I use my neighbors wifi maybe he was doing the illegal stuff?

it is a scam, no government or state or even local police would say to bribe or pay a fine, you would have to go to court and be convicted first! and I look at porn and see the same things too, don't worry, just a scam to try to trick you into paying them money!

Calm down. The government wouldnt make you pay $200 dollars right away, especially on a credit card, it's probably some con artist hacking into PS3 once again -_- . the same thing happened to my brother a few weeks ago. Nothing happened, Odds are, your neighbor probably reported that someone was using his wifi to watch porn. He has to pay for each clip you watch, so his bill is probably high and hes mad about it. However, they don't know who you are. So ignore it. If it really scares you, just stop using his wifi. Smile No big deal.

That's NOT from the FBI. it's a virus called Ransomware
The FBI does NOT warn you if they are checking your computer - they would have shown up at your door and confiscated your computer and every other internet enabled device. And they DO NOT make you pay them for anything
Even the FBI has a warning about this on their website http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2012/august/new-internet-scam
This blog tells you how to remove it http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-fbi-monkeypak-ransomware
Do not pay for any reason - it won't do anything but lead to more and more requests for money
