There's this girl that's kinda cute (who goes to college with me). She's not very attached to any of her friends (male or female), and sometimes she seems to be just in her own world.
However, I've caught her staring at me several times, and since she usually acts like I've said before, it was kind of shocking. And it is this penetrant, wide-open eye stare, which lasts for a couple of seconds (even though sometimes she does look away quiclky).
We've only talked once (it was pretty short and there was smiling). After that I joined my group of friends and she was with hers. After a while, I randomly looked up and there she was staring at me with that beautifuly penetrating look again, completely absent from her friends' conversation.
But apart from that one time, all there was was just the staring (always from some safe distance, might I add).
The thing is that we don't share any classes anymore, and I can't stop thinking about her... I mean, I could run into her, but what are the chances?
What should I do?

PS We're not friends on Facebook and we don't have each other numbers.

If you seriously like her then you should spark up a conversation with her sometime. Maybe ask her friends about what she likes or try and get her number/facebook.
I'd say start online and work your way upwards but you never know. She seems like the awkward type so that could fail. I just think you should talk to her.

Aww.. How cute is that! Staring competition? :-P never mind, but from which country u r? Generally this types staring things happens in India, moreover semi-urban places like my city.. U know, shy guys, scared girls.. Anyways.. No offence!
U should really ran over her (put up the act!) during ur lunch and say her sorry.. Then u should invite her to have lunch with u.. If she refused ( most likely she will put up an excuse that her friends are waiting!) then u can ask her number by saying that may be we could meet some other day. Or, if u r too scared just casually ask her, u r on fb?? Then i'll send u a frnd request.. It'll surely work.. And then the rest of the things are in ur hands dude.
