16 GB iPod Touch payment? - Ann - 05-12-2014 07:09 PM

I'm planning on buying a 16GB iPod Touch with IOS7 and iMessage and all that good stuff. It's $229 at Walmart, and my question is: once I've payed the $229 for the iPod itself, do I have to pay for anything else? Wifi, iMessage, 3G, Kik and other messenger apps? Because I really have no idea how any of that works. Thanks in advance, for anyone who can answer this!

The iPod Touch works with wifi only. Lots of places have free wifi that you can use. This will allow you to surf the internet, use iMessage, browse iTunes and the App Store, etc. All of this is free. But of course there are some apps that have to be purchased. I'm not sure about kik but I'd assume that one is free. Most messaging or social media apps are free. Now if you are at home, you will need wifi as well. If you don't already have wifi access at home, that will require an additional expense to obtain. Whether it's by purchasing a router that connects to your existing internet or a mobile hotspot that you can get through your cell phone provider. But if you have wifi at home already, then you're good to go! No other costs. Even when you aren't connected to the internet, you can still use your iPod touch for music and some games if you've already downloaded them. Hope this helps!
