Ads are ruining my news reading, please help!? - Nick - 05-14-2014 06:48 PM

Can anyone help me with the ads that run on yahoo? There are so many per page now that everything slows to a crawl. Right now there are 3 video ads running the same thing simultaneously that are immutable and impossible to close....on EVERY tab I open. There has to be a way to get rid of them. Someone please help me out. I'm using chrome.

Of course there's no way to contact yahoo, nor would I expect them to care. They're too busy stealing stories from real journalists and pretending to be a news service.

use a real news website

in Australia I use http://www.abc.net.au/news

presumably you have something worthwhile in your locale

It's easy Nick. Goto Chrome Store and search for add-on named AdBlock Plus. Add it to the browser. That's it. After installation right click on any ad and block it. Additionally add FlashBlock add-on also to block annoying flash videos.

Yes, I agree with using AdBlock! You will be AMAZED at how different your web browsing is when the adverts are gone.

If you use FireFox, click the "tools" button then "addons" in the top menu bar, find Adblock Plus and install it. Then sit back and actually enjoy browsing again :-)

you can follow the advice given so far or just remove flash from your pc

i found that many times flash was crashing as some ads were poorly coded-- deleted flash
