is it possible to hook up a wireless internet router to a regular modem that just connects to a computer? PLEASE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

If you're talking about a dial-up modem then YES it is however you would have to use the computer which means the computer would have to be turned on in order to get internet access. If you use a Windows computer you would need a dial-up modem and a NIC/Ethernet card installed in the same computer. You can then use what's called internet connection sharing. You can easily search Google on how to do this so I'm not going to list steps here. Essentially you will set up the computer to share the internet connection from the dial-up modem with the NIC/Ethernet card. Then connect the phone cord to the dial-up modem and an ethernet cord from the WAN port of the wireless router to the NIC/Ethernet card in the computer. Now when someone connects to the wireless router and tries to access the internet it will work!
