How can I mirror the media content on my LG Nexus 5 device to my Sony LCD TV? - 562 - 05-15-2014 08:09 AM

I have a LG Nexus 5 device and I want to mirror the media content, like photos and videos, on to my Sony LCD TV. My Sony TV is more than 2-3 years old and it does not support Wi-Fi. I tried a MHL cable to connect my mobile to the TV, but that doesn't work with the Nexus 5. How else can I mirror the content of my LG Nexus 5 device to my Sony LCD TV?

One solution is put a DLNA server on your phone. Then plug something like a RoKu or Google Chrome into an HDMI port on the TV. Connect that to your router either Wifi or cable (cable considered more reliable)

What can happen is that you run a DLNA server on your phone. Then the thing on the TV is able to tap into the DLNA server on the phone. Then you stream the videos and look at the pictures on the TV. I'd put the phone on a charger when doing this.
