are virgin media prices fixed for the duration of the contracted months (18)? - doscomk2a - 05-16-2014 03:16 AM

a friend of mine was 6 months into an 18 month contract with virgin media when they suddenly put up the price by £6 per month which she grossly objected to only to be told that she must accept it and there was no way she could cancel the contract
Is this so because I am about to go over to virgin and if this is the case I will be having serious doubts about switching

Yes as she is in contract, the change in prices depends on company and most of the time they tend to go up as customer is liable.
After one month of my purchase Virgin media reduced prices in my area but I was not able to change as I was in contract. Long story short- U cant leave and U cant change
But it is same for all providers so look for good network with affordable price before getting in contract.

No

yes you have a contract for specific time but written in the contract it states Virgin can raise prices as and when required

but £6 per month seems extreme normally its abount £2 so call customer services - the longer you stay with them the more you can negotiate

search hotukdeals or moneysavingexperts for offers/ways to reduce
