Mini Lop or Holland Lop? - Animal Mum - 05-18-2014 03:43 AM

I am looking into either getting a Mini Lop or Holland Lop for 4-H. I can't decide which breed. I have enough room to house either size. Right now I have an over sized Mini Lop rescue and I think I am leaning more towards a Mini Lop. I found a nice doe I like, but she is a ways away and I don't want to pay $50 for her. But what's your opinion? Which breed? It will be pedigreed and meet the standard.

There is very little difference in the two breeds which will come into play for making your decision. It is more important to find the right rabbit for you, rather than the right breed in this case. Make sure you enjoy the personality and look for the animals which are in your area. A good rabbit will be worth a lot of money, especially if it is ARBA pedigreed. The other factor to take into consideration is what breed of rabbit you can acquire in your area without traveling an extreme distance. The better 4-H rabbit, the more you will pay for it. I have seen ARBA rabbits vary from $40-$350.

Goodluck with your decision making! Sorry I couldn't be more help. If you ever want to talk about rabbits feel free to find me at" S & T Rabbitry" group on facebook we love talking to rabbit lovers across the world.
