The purpose: I do not use my app enough and since I use the internet everyday, I believe an online blog would be better suited for me. I am not planning to follow many other blogs, but I am planning on keeping a lot of posts (everyday if possible).
I was told to try Wordpress, but I heard that they limit you unless you pay, which I am not willing to do.

NO, wordpress.org is 100% free, but wordpress.com is paid, so try wordpress.org, there are no limits

No you can self host your Wordpress blog which will work out much cheaper than paying Wordpress to host it for you.

for blog you can use Wordpress. Wordpress have a plugin to help you to optimize your SEO.
