I use my samsung instinct cell phone as a modem to connect my laptop to the internet but I don't know how to use this feature to connect my ps3 to the internet. Is there a way to connect a laptop running vista to a ps3 to use the laptops internet connection to connect online with the ps3?

You can't share a wireless from a laptop to a ps3. The only way is to use a wireless router.
