If you have any picture at all, then it is not the screen or backlight. There is a failure in the signal processing of the set. Not a DIY repair.

Does it get a pic with a blu ray? dvd? What is the source of the lost pic? If you get a pic with other devices as well as chrome then it's the source that's the problem.
