My laptop constantly needs to reconnect to wifi? - Hello - 05-21-2014 03:45 AM

I have an older laptop that is a dell studio. It is running windows vista. Every time I turn it off or even let it sleep it disconnects from the wifi. I'll start the computer up and it will try to connect but all it says is "identifying" for awhile so then I have to manually go in and disconnect and connect again.

I clicked on the wireless name and clicked properties. Everything is checked regarding connect automatically.

Btw my boyfriend has an alienware computer and it never has this issue so I know it's not my internet its the computer.

Hope that helps Smile

Hi,

I am Kaveri from the Dell Social Media Outreach team.

You can update the latest Wireless drivers from Dell support website to resolve this issue. Please find the link below for the same.

Link:- http://dell.to/1hadXqu

1) Enter the Service Tag and press submit button. ( You can find the service tag at the bottom of the laptop on white sticker, it’s a seven digit alphanumeric code which ends with BS or number 1.)
2) Click on Drivers and Downloads.
3) Choose the Operating system.
4) Click on Wireless driver option and download it.

**Press Fn+F2 key to enable the wireless switch.

In case of any further assistance Please feel free to contact me directly by sending a reply to this blog.
We would recommend you do not post your private information on a public forum.

Thanks & Regards
