We just got a couple electrical storms, and now our computers are shutting down, hibernating, and closing google chrome by themselves. We also have problems with our ipods, as they are changing the volume, changing screens, and pausing themselves.
What's happening???

Magnetic fields and electrical fields fight among each other for one to reign supreme. When this happens, anything electrical starts breaking up.

You should ALWAYS have a serious quality surge suppressor or a UPS between the power outlet and any sensitive electronic equipment. This is not a job for the $5-$10 power strip from Home Depot or Meijer. Those power strips are typically good for ONE hit and then their surge suppression is toast but they will continue to provide power. You need to use surge suppressor which can take multiple hits. Those usually start at around $20. The alternative is a UPS which provides surge suppression as well as battery power in case of interruptions or brown outs.
Having electronics plugged in during electrical storms will inevitably lead to damaged hardware.
You should back up the data on each of the problematic devices and then perform a factory restore of the software and cross your fingers that the hardware wasn't damaged. If the problems continue after refreshing the software then your hardware is damaged and perhaps your home-owners insurance will cover the damage ...
