Do myspace and facebook creators get paid for the offers they have? - Donald Faulknor - 05-23-2014 06:38 PM

I am in the process of waiting approval from myspace to become a developer (however long that takes) and I've never created an app (so a little help would be nice) but I was just wondering if they have sources of income strictly from those apps. When they sell stuff such as "favor points on mobsters" does that money go to them or to myspace and do they get paid for the offers their users complete?

apps make money in two ways

1) through ad revenue such as google ads
2) also by offering add ons within the app, like you said by offering favor points in apps like mobsters where you can sell extra things to make money that way.

The app developer gets the money.

App develops can make money through a few ways
-In game ads (run by ad networks such as adsense)
-Paid upgrades (such as favor points on mobsters)
-Completing offers (as you also mentioned)

Creating a good app does take a fair bit of effort but the reward can be well worth the effort, i owned an app on facebook a while ago, i integrated all those revenue sources.
I made about $50 from paid upgrades, $150 from completing offers and around $20 from in game ads.
I bought the app, it cost me around $500 and i sold it after a month for $550.
