What can/should i do for better and faster internet connection?

It depends on what you have already. You might want to make sure that you are at the highest speed all the way through. Meaning that if you have your internet connection on DSL and then you have your router plugged into the modem, but your modem only has 10Mb ports on it, then you are going to notice a slower connection than if you had 100Mb ports or even 1Gb ports. You are as slow as your weakest link. So make sure you have everything at the top speed.

You cant get a faster Internet connection, the bigger the modem is you will be able DOWNLOAD faster. A woman in Sweden has the biggest modem in the world of a massive 60gig. she can download a full length feature film in less than 2 seconds, her husband is a gaffer of an Internet protocol.
