My site has not yet been "crawled" by Google? - Gronolo - 05-24-2014 08:59 PM

I have a site that I have set up for a company and have gone the distance with search engine optimization as far as Google is concerned. I have properly set up my robots.txt directive so it can be easily found, etc. However within Google accounts 'webmaster tools' no data is available on this particular site. And it has been almost a month since this attempted SEO. Any help or insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Be sure to submit a sitemap to Google via Google Webmaster Tools. Also, be sure to check the 'Diagnostics' section of Webmaster Tools to check for any problems that Google is having while crawling your site.

Recently, Google has gotten much faster at indexing new websites. I've seen several sites get indexed within 3 days of creation when a sitemap has been submitted via Webmaster Tools. If it's been a month and your site hasn't been indexed yet, something is wrong.

Using Webmaster Tools, you can check your robots.txt file to see if you are inadvertently blocking Google from indexing the site. Go to 'Site Configuration' and then 'Crawler access'. See http://www.robotstxtfile.com/ for proper examples of robots.txt files.

When all else fails, get good quality links from sites that are indexed by Google. Links are the currency of SEO.
