My facebook friend recently disappeared from my friends list. I have been fb friends with her for a couple months. I thought that she blocked or deleted me. But then I checked her friend list, and I'm there. She's not in my chat group or friends list anymore? What happened? Will she return?

it's not possible for you to be in her friends list and you not to be in hers, so you must be confused about something
maybe she changed some of her privacy settings, or facebook suspended her account fror breaking the rules, like creating more than one account

It is impossible that something like that to exist as abraXus explained. If you are abosultely sure that she is not in your friend list then she might have changed her privacy settings. Other than that, you might try searching for her on your chat tab.
