What is the best way to introduce software product by email? - Vladimir - 05-25-2014 02:28 PM

A friend of mine who works in software company is about to introduce new innovative software. I want to help him with the promotion by emails, because I have friends that might be interested in this new product.

Of course, the software company will pay professionals for this service, but I'm personally involved. I need a template of email that will briefly introduce the software, and after the intro I plan to attach a file with presentation of the product.

So I need to grab their attention with short copy, so they are interested enough to check the presentation. I searched the web, but the outcome was long copies that looks like spam.

I just want catchy intro that will grab their attention. I have never wrote business emails before, and I have no idea of the needed format or etiquette.. And English is not my native language..

Thanks in advance!

I don't see any reason why someone who doesn't know you or your software would download a ppt file - how large will it be anyway? probably be stopped by most spam filters.

Provide a link to a promotional webpage which has a short video of the sw in action, you can then also track those requests.

U.S. can-spam regulations forbid sending solicitations to addresses with whom you have no prior relationship. You can pay mailing list owners to send you message to their subscribers as a newsletter ad, or a "Solo Ad" mailing. The right demographically targeted list can be powerful.

The massive database of rental postal mail addresses: lists.nextmark.com also shows some email addresses and phone numbers. I would assume they would email on your behalf, although I have no first hand experience using their emails.
