Those professional inventors with their own home machine shops will tell you that a hood idea alone is worth a dime a dozen, you wold probably need something more tangible, like a working protoype to interest others, ideally one gets an important idea patented before shopping it around, it's easier these days to do a preliminary patent search at the U.S. patent office. http://patft.uspto.gov/
