Does Google organic search ranking depends on web traffic? - Paul - 05-26-2014 01:43 AM Let's say there are two website, both dealing with obscure things (key words) that gets very few traffic, if at all. Initially, website 1 is ranked fifth on the first page while website 2 is ranked at the top. But let's say website 1 suddenly gets a lot more clicks than website 2, possibly due to some publicity, or you had a bunch of your friends click on it. Will website 1 eventually get an improved ranking? Again, I'm talking organic search, not paid ads or Adwords But what if you click on your own website a million times or something? - Lvarg - 05-26-2014 01:50 AM Nope. The goals are: 1] get traffic, 2] convert the traffic. If website 1 gets more clicks than website 2, it accomplishes goal 1]. The fact that it is above or below website 2 shouldn't matter. If there is little competition for the keywords, I wouldn't be surprised if the viewer visited all the sites on page 1... |
