I know there is a file that stores everything. I want easy step by step process on how to find this file and how to empty/delete its content. I have internet explorer and don't use chrome or Firefox. Its a laptop with windows 8. I have the latest internet explorer which is 10(I believe)

I'm going to sell.
I'm not talking about basic internet history deletion. I'm talking about that back up file that is stored on the hard drive somewhere... I remember its was called index.dat or something along that line

Go to Gear Wheel[prob top right hand side] click it and click Internet Options and under General go to bottom and tick little box Delete Internet History and it will always delete you internet history when you close Internet Explorer

this should remove autofill and other suggested things that you've visited in the past as well.

bring your arrow at top or bellow right side of the screen then click settings then click control panel and click network and internet then click delete browsing history and cookies then click delete another window pop up just click delete and your done.

A system reset? Are you talking about erasing everything off your computer and having it how you originally bought it?

Read the manual for your PC. There will be a section on how to restore using the recovery partition. That will reset the computer to like it was fresh out of the box and erase everything that was on it previously. It's perfect for when you want to sell a computer or just start over fresh.
The manual is also available from the manufacturer's web site as a download.
