If I install apps at home using my wifi connection, once I leave the house and have no wifi, can I still use the apps? For example, if angry birds is installed, do I need an internet connection to play it?

Yes. You can play games like angrybirds with no internet connection alright [any internet related features within a game will be unavailable though]. All apps and widgets that require info from the net will not work though, whether they come pre-installed or not makes no difference and will still need 3G data or wifi access to function
