How do I set up a Canon MX340 printer with a Chromebook computer? - 839 - 05-29-2014 03:52 PM

I tried the whole settings, advanced settings, and printer junk. Still didn't work. I can't download the printer software on this computer because it won't allow it.

You will have to use cloud printing. Connect your printer to Google Cloud Print https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1069693

If it has the new and updated Google Chrome OS. To print the webpage you're viewing in Chrome, press Ctrl+P (Mac: ⌘-P). You'll be able to preview the page and adjust basic printer and page settings, before printing. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1379552?hl=en

Unfortunately, the Google Cloud Print website does not indicate that the MX340 is cloud-print ready. You'll need to look into getting a new printer, OR you can connect your MX340 to a Windows or Mac laptop, and set up Cloud Print that way (the computer that the printer is connected to will have to be powered on for this to work).
