IP conflict question? - 846 - 05-31-2014 07:49 AM

I'm trying to bridge my laptop to my pc so my pc can have internet. should i put different static ip's on both my pc and my laptop to avoid the ip conflict i get when i bridge? and what should i go about doing on router settings or setting on my computers

Call me confused. Do you have a router? If so just connect each unit to the router no "bridge" needed. If you do bridge or use ICS (microsofts internet connection sharing) each computer does have to have different IP addresses. ICS does it automatically.

I do have a router but I'm upstairs and the router is downstairs and I tried ics but it gave me some kind of error. But I hadn't set any ip addresses so I may try that again
