ok I got a super catholic mom and a catholic dad, religion does matter in this so please go with it...
first off there only concern is the internet and porn...
I haven't and they know this looked at porn in awile now, it just really truthfully doesn't interest me, and kids these days have ways of looking at porn anyhow
also I would be paying for it all myself as I have a job, im 17, getting a permin, and want to be more social and stay connected with people... right now I just have those talk and text phones and I really need an upgrade, any advise on how to convince them?
also: I want to avoid filters on the iphone and **** like that because my computer wont even let me use google images or anything like that for when im doing things, i want to make an instagram and that wont work with a filter

i dont think you can get filters on iphon that you cant take of.
your 17 they should trust you and give you more freedom
also i hate iphones but they are alright i would get a samsung
maybe a galaxy grand if your on a low budget its a good 5inch phone
to take the filter of you need a password you could reset your device when your parents put the lock on then get a passcode lock so they cant access your phone

Do all the research yourself so they dont need to do any of it. Find the cheapest deal and plan to show them the cost, money doesn't grow on trees so you may have to give up some things (use imessage or apps for texting, etc., to lower the monthly plan, get iphone 4 which is free with a 2 year contract).
