You Cant Stop This Unfortnately Cover Photos By Default are Public There are No Privacy Settings For Cover Photos For Profile Pictures Tho However you Can Set Individual Ones To Private To Do That Go to the Profile Picture Click on the Circle Than Change it to Friends Only Or Me Only What Ever Setting you Like

People will always be able to view your current profile and cover picture. As for your timeline, just make sure every post you put up is set so only your friends can see it, you can do this by clicking on the little icon (it will be either say 'friends' 'public' 'custom' or 'only me') beside the 'post' button. It will drop down and you will get options for who you want your audience to be. Then click 'friends'.
