Internet connection stuck with proxy settings? - Johncase7777 - 06-01-2014 08:48 AM
So I download a IP hiding program (http://www.free-hideip.com/) didn't like it and uninstalled it. Now my internet connection is stuck with it's settings. When I first tuned on my PC and try to get onto a website I get the message "Proxy server won't allow the connection" or something similar to that.
On another hard drive I got but haven't started using yet everything is fine and it still shows my original IP address but on my hard drive I'm using now it's still messing up and gives me the proxy server IP address, Firefox after a while work (hints me typing this).
I followed all the steps to try and disable the proxy server settings on my internet connection but nothing is working, so it must be something still on my hard drive after I uninstalled the program but I can't find.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
If it helps I'm using Windows 7 home premium. Also I tried unplugging my router but didn't work even had it unplugged when I was asleep and at work, in total it was unplugged for 16 hours.

re-install that ip hiding software, and this time, uninstall this software with RevoUninstaller. then check it.
because when you're uninstall a program from control panel, even after uninstalling, that program registry entries still exists. so RevoUninstaller removes programs DEEPLY.

Hi,
Run ATF-Cleaner and CCcleaner, free sharewares available on internet for download, in your system for broken registry links , clearing cache and temporary internet files and resetting your browsers.

Free proxies are the biggest malware trap on the internet. Al of them are scams.
I suggest to start with going back to a previous set point in Windows. That may fix it.
Scanning with malwarebytes may also help.
