A google good rank means nothing by itself.
What you should focus on is getting as many backlinks to your site as you can, and having unique contents, which in turn will convert to a good rank as you wanted in the first place.
Opposed to this is having a good rank (let's say by paying for it) and not getting any visits therefore loosing the niche all together.

You need to have good content on your site, and know where and how to build your back links to your site. There are certain sites that google searches more than others and this would get you index fast and have a high page rank on google.
