Instagram is kind of fading off, but YouTube is as strong as ever, maybe go for that instead.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who are thinking about or doing what you want to so I will bet you nobody will discover you on those but if you actually get a real artist to listen to you, you could have a chance. You could always start an indie band and maybe get big at somone indie band conventions.

What?! Of course not! There are new people on YouTube every single day. Most quit after a short period of time. So stick to it and people will subscribe. Best of luck.
