Of course your connection will get slower, normally your browser sends a request to the server to get the file you asked for or the image on a site etc, but when using a VPN your browser sends the request to the VPN server instead the server of the site that you are visiting example i want http://www.*****.com/index.html instead of asking the server for it it asks the VPN server then the VPN server asks the real server for it the real server says yes i found index.html here you go it sends it to the VPN then the VPN sends it back to you so the VPN knows you but the real server doesn't, i sooo don't recommend VPN for big hacks.
