Why did Windows update close out Chrome? - 292 - 06-02-2014 08:43 PM

I had about nine tabs open in Google Chrome, and then, suddenly, this Windows Update thing blocked the screen. The computer then said that it was shutting down so it could install and configure the update. It didn't give me any options. When it opened up again, all of my work was completely gone. What's up with this? That was a very large amount of effort that I wasted as a result of Windows Update. The computer was running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Windows Updates supersede (overthrow) any other actions. Therefore if it needs a reboot it can freely do so without your input.

I would recommend disabling windows updates.
