What does "Firefox has a proxy that's refusing connection" mean? - 588 - 06-03-2014 02:54 AM My internet closed for no reason and when I re-opened it there were ads everywhere from this stupid thing called ElectroLyrics that comes up every so often and i disabled it and re-opened the browser and got the message. It said check proxy settings - like how does anyone know how to do that. I looked through the faqs and I clicked "No Proxy" in the settings and now it works again. Is it ok to use no proxy?? Did it have no proxy before? I have no idea what a proxy is, does anyone know? - Cadlyman - 06-03-2014 03:05 AM No you probably did not have a proxy and in most cases do not need one. I would advise a thorough scan with your Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software Malwarebytes is pretty good. I suspect you have something redirecting your traffic to malicious sites through the proxy.
